If you have a complaint...

In accordance with the PEI Regulated Health Professions Act, the PEI Dental College is mandated to investigate complaints related to practice standards, professionalism, and ethics on the part of dentists and dental assistants practising in the province.

Before you file a formal complaint

Consider talking to your dentist or dental assistant first

If you are unhappy with an aspect of your dental care, we encourage you, if possible, to talk about your concerns directly with your dentist or dental assistant. However, if you are not comfortable doing this or you are not satisfied with the outcome, please feel free to file a formal complaint.

Be informed about our mandate and the complaint process

The College has the authority to investigate complaints about:

  • Professional misconduct, such as an alleged failure to abide by established standards of practice;
  • Conduct that undermines the public's trust in the profession; or
  • Situations where a professional's personal health issues may prevent them from providing safe dental care.

Please watch the video below before starting the complaint process.

Further instructions will be revealed after you've watched the video (4 minutes and 20 seconds).
